Comcast announced on March 1 that it has named Thomas Reid as senior executive vice president, general counsel, and secretary. He will report to Chairman and CEO Brian Roberts.
Reid will assume the general counsel role from Arthur Block, who will be retiring after serving Comast for 30 years in its legal group and for two decades as general counsel.
Reid will join Comcast in April from law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell. Reid has served as chairman and managing partner of the firm since 2011, beginning his career there in 1987. Reid was a managing director in the Investment Banking Division of Morgan Stanley from 2000 to 2003 and then rejoined Davis Polk.
