Comcast, a global media and technology company, has promoted Lynn Charytan to executive vice president and general counsel of Comcast Cable.

Prior to this promotion, Charytan served as senior vice president of legal regulatory affairs and senior deputy general counsel. In her new role, she will be responsible for overseeing the legal affairs of Comcast Cable and the wide array of technologies, products, and services that it delivers to both consumers and businesses in 39 states and Washington, D.C. She will also continue to oversee regulatory compliance with the NBCUniversal transaction requirements.

Charytan will report to Neil Smit, chief executive officer of Comcast Cable, and has a dotted line reporting relationship to David Cohen, senior executive vice president of Comcast, in connection with her continuing regulatory oversight responsibilities.

Charytan joined Comcast in 2010 after spending 17 years at WilmerHale, where she served as the chair of its communications, privacy and internet law practice group.
