Diamond Offshore Drilling has appointed David Roland general counsel and secretary, effective immediately.

Roland joins Diamond Offshore with over 20 years of corporate legal experience in the energy industry, including the last ten years as general counsel and secretary at ION Geophysical, a geophysical company. Prior to joining ION in 2004, Roland worked for seven years as a corporate and securities lawyer with a major law firm, and ten years as a corporate lawyer with international energy and oilfield services companies.
