DreamWorks Animation has appointed Steven Adams as chief accounting officer, effective as of March 8. Chief Financial Officer Fazal Merchant had been serving as acting chief accounting officer since March 4, following the resignation of Edward Aleman.

Prior to his appointment as chief accounting officer, Adams provided consulting services to the company beginning in December 2015. Prior to such time, he was senior vice president, controller, and chief accounting officer for DIRECTV since September 2014.

Additionally, from November 2011 to August 2014, Adams was vice president and general auditor for DIRECTV, and before that was vice president, corporate financial reporting and dealer compensation. Before joining DIRECTV in 1999, he was a manager in assurance and business advisory services for PwC.
