EnteroMedics, a medical-device company, has appointed Scott Youngstrom as chief compliance officer. He also will assume the additional role of chief financial officer. Effective Oct. 3, Youngstrom will succeed Greg Lea, EnteroMedics' current CFO and chief compliance officer, who will be retiring from the company on that date.

Youngstrom brings to EnteroMedics over 25 years of strategic financial and operational experience in a variety of medical device companies, most recently having served as CFO and vice president, finance at Galil Medical, a developer of cryotherapy technology. Prior to Galil Medical, from 2009-2014, Youngstrom served as vice president, chief operating officer, and CFO at DGIMED Ortho, a developer of orthopedic medical devices.

Youngstrom has previously served as CFO and vice president of finance with Anulex Technologies, Enpath Medical, Compex Technologies, Acist Medical Systems, and Cardiotronics.
