The U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is reportedly transferring its enforcement caseload to the DOJ, one of multiple indicators telegraphing its eminent shutdown.

CFPB enforcement actions, appellate cases, and litigation are being handled by DOJ lawyers, according to a report from Reuters Thursday. This transfer of litigation is weeks after Russell Vought, the director of the Office of Management and Budget and the acting director at the CFPB, said the agency will run out of funds by early next year
