General Motors said in a Form 8-K filing that Thomas Timko, vice president of global business solutions and chief accounting officer, will be leaving GM, effective Sept. 7.

GM said it will announce a replacement for Timko in due course.

Timko has accepted a position General Electric to assume the role of vice president, controller, and chief accounting officer, effective Sept. 10, GE announced in a Form 8-K. He will assume these responsibilities from Jan Hauser, who will retire from GE on July 24. Hauser has agreed to remain in the role of chief accounting officer until Timko assumes his position, and then will assist with the transition.

Timko has been vice president of global business solutions and chief accounting officer since 2017. From 2013 to 2017, he was vice president, controller, and chief accounting officer of GM. Prior to joining GM, he held chief accounting officer positions at Applied Materials and Delphi Automotive.
