The Federal Bureau of Investigation announced the appointment of Jason Jones as general counsel.

Jones joins the FBI from law firm King & Spalding, where he was a partner on the Special Matters and Government Investigations team. He was a federal prosecutor for nearly 10 years, previously serving as a supervisory assistant U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York.

In 2014, Jones was named the senior counsel to the assistant attorney general, advising the leadership of the Department of Justice’s Criminal Division on enforcement priorities and division strategy. He later served as assistant chief of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act Unit in the DOJ’s Fraud Section.
