Midland States Bancorp announced the promotion of Donald Spring to chief accounting officer.

Spring, a corporate controller for the company, will lead Midland’s finance department on an interim basis while it conducts an executive search for a replacement for former Chief Financial Officer Stephen A. Erickson. Erickson resigned to accept a position with another financial institution.

Spring has more than 35 years of accounting experience and has served as Midland’s corporate controller since 2009.
