Office Depot has appointed Richard Haas as chief accounting officer, effective June 14. He will replace Scott Kriss, who informed the company of his decision to resign.

Haas will report to Chief Financial Officer Joseph Lower and will lead and direct the activities of general accounting, financial services, financial systems, external reporting, tax and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance for the company. 

Haas has served as Office Depot’s vice president of tax since January 2014, providing leadership and oversight for all tax matters. Prior to joining Office Depot, he was vice president of tax for OfficeMax since 2007.
