Walmart on Thursday announced the hiring of Emma Waddell as vice president of financial services compliance and Joe Rodriguez as lead counsel of financial services.

Waddell, who will assume her role Sept. 16, was most recently chief compliance officer at SunTrust Bank. Prior to SunTrust, she worked at JPMorgan Chase Bank and held several titles over a span of 12 years.

Waddell will provide support to the financial services compliance leaders across all operating markets of the company and report to Senior Vice President of Global Regulatory Compliance Chris Cyrenne.

Rodriguez most recently served as vice president of compliance at Capital One. Before working at Capital One, he was a partner at Davis Wright Tremaine and had previously served as senior counsel at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Rodriguez will initially report to General Counsel Karen Roberts.
