Investment manager Blackstone announced the appointment of William Renahan to chief compliance officer for its secured lending and private credit funds, according to regulatory filings.

With more than 25 years of experience in the investment management industry, Renahan joined Blackstone in May as managing director.

Before Blackstone, he held the role of senior managing director and chief compliance officer for Duff & Phelps Investment Management and its affiliated funds. He previously served as an associate at Battle Fowler before it merged with Paul Hastings. And for 13 years, he served as managing director and senior counsel at Legg Mason and predecessor firms.

Renahan has been an active member of the Investment Company Institute and served as its closed-end fund committee chairman from 2014-18.

He replaces Marisa Beeney as chief compliance officer. Beeney will continue to serve as chief legal officer and secretary.
