Biotechnology researcher Cullinan Oncology announced the appointment of Jacquelyn Sumer as chief legal and compliance officer and corporate secretary.

With nearly two decades of legal and strategic leadership experience, Sumer brings a track record of navigating legal and compliance issues through clinical development and commercialization of cancer therapies.

In her most recent role, she served as chief legal and compliance officer at Genocea Biosciences. Prior to that, Sumer was vice president, assistant general counsel at Bristol Myers Squibb, where she led the worldwide hematology and cell therapy legal team. Before that, she was head of Celgene Corporation’s CAR T legal team.

Sumer began her legal career at Kaye Scholer and clerked for Judge Gladys Kessler at the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
