The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) appointed Jelena Madir as managing director, chief compliance officer.

Madir will lead the Office of the Chief Compliance Officer and be responsible for promoting good governance and integrity across all activities of the bank.

Joining the EBRD in 2009, her most recent role was as director, chief counsel in the financial law unit of the legal transition team. In 2019, Madir joined Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, taking up the role of general counsel and was involved in setting up and operating the Covid-19 Vaccines Global Access Facility, a global program for the development, production, and distribution of Covid-19 vaccines to more than 160 countries.
