HDI Global Insurance (HDI) has appointed Patricia Ryan as general counsel and corporate secretary with immediate effect. She succeeds David Neumeister, who after more than a decade with HDI has decided to return to private practice.

In her new role, Ryan will serve as principal counsel, responsible for managing all legal matters for the company, including compliance, litigation, regulatory and government affairs, contracts, and legal consultation to HDI’s business operations.

As part of the company’s leadership team, she will work closely with HDI’s board of directors on corporate governance and business processes. She will report to President and Chief Executive Officer Lothar Becker.

Prior to joining HDI, Ryan served as general counsel of American Overseas Group, a Bermuda-based insurance holding company. She was previously a partner at Johnson & Bell and has also served as assistant general counsel of QBE and as senior counsel at Allianz.
