Insurance Australia Group (IAG) announced the appointment of Robert Cutler as group general counsel.

Separately, IAG New Zealand confirmed Rachael O’Brien as chief risk officer, effective July 1.

Cutler joins IAG after a 33-year career with Clayton Utz, which included six years as chief executive partner and board member. He was also a director of the not-for-profit Clayton Utz Foundation.

O’Brien has been acting in the New Zealand role since July 2023, following temporary changes made to the executive team structure in response to the Cyclone Gabrielle and North Island flooding events. Prior to this appointment, she held the position of executive manager, risk governance.
