Global fast food chain KFC announced the appointment of Nira Johri as chief sustainability officer, effective April 3.

Johri will be responsible for leading KFC’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) agenda and will report directly to Val Kubizniak, global chief marketing officer.

Johri joins KFC from Rich Products Corporation, where she served as vice president of global inclusion and sustainability. In her time at Rich’s, she accelerated cost savings reduction projects with environmental impact; established its first carbon reduction goal; and gained industry, customer, and public disclosure recognition for its progress.

Prior to Rich’s, she held several leadership roles across World Cocoa Foundation, Unilever, the United States Department of Defense, and Obama for America.
