Fledgling digital currency group the Libra Association announced the appointment of Sterling Daines as chief compliance officer.

Daines will join Libra later this year upon stepping down from his current role as a managing director and global head of financial crime compliance at Credit Suisse. He previously served as managing director and deputy head of financial crime compliance at Goldman Sachs.

The hiring of Daines comes on the heels of a series of other key appointments for Libra, including Stuart Levey as CEO and Robert Werner as General Counsel. Libra released an updated white paper in April that detailed its plans to build a best-in-class compliance program in the cryptocurrency space.
