Medical device company Medtronic announced Bradley Lerman, senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, will retire effective Dec. 31. The company also named Jennifer Kirk to the new role of principal accounting officer, global controller and chief accounting officer.

Lerman served as a member of the executive committee for more than seven years and will retire following a law career that spans 40-plus years in both the public sector and private practice.

Medtronic’s board of directors appointed Kirk, effective June 30. Following the separate retirements of the company’s controller and chief accounting officer, the decision was made to consolidate the positions into Kirk’s new role.

Kirk was senior vice president, integration and value capture for Occidental Petroleum Corporation and before that held several other roles there, including vice president, controller and principal accounting officer. She also previously worked at Arthur Andersen. Kirk is a current member of the board of directors of Republic Services, where she has served since 2016.
