Biotechnology company Opentrons Labworks announced the appointment of Veleka Peeples-Dyer as chief legal and compliance officer.

Peeples-Dyer brings more than 22 years of legal and compliance experience in the life sciences industry, advising pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device and other companies on Food and Drug Administration and global compliance matters.

Most recently, she was chair of the North America Food and Drug Practice Group for Baker McKenzie, where she was also a member of the firm’s North American Healthcare & Life Sciences Steering Committee and worked extensively with the Global Healthcare and Life Sciences team.

Opentrons also announced the appointment of Eva Boratto as chief financial officer. Boratto joins following her role as executive vice president and chief financial officer of CVS Health. During her tenure at CVS, she led the integration of the finance function following the company’s 2018 acquisition of Aetna and managed the company’s financial performance during the Covid-19 pandemic.
