Scotiabank announced the promotion of Chief Risk Officer Phil Thomas to group head and chief risk officer.

He is responsible for the bank’s global management of risk, including enterprise, credit, and market risk.

Thomas joined Scotiabank in 1997 and has progressed through a series of increasingly senior positions, including roles in retail banking, digital channels, contact centers, and risk management, according to his company profile.
