Spanish-language content company Univision Holdings announced the appointment of a new general counsel as part of a redesign of its corporate leadership structure.

Pilar Ramos will assume the role ahead of the consolidation of Univision and Televisa expected to be finalized later this year. She will become general counsel for Televisa-Univision once the merger is complete.

Previously, Ramos worked at Mastercard for 18 years in various leadership posts, including general counsel of North America. Earlier, she served as general counsel of DeRemate.com and subsequently at DIRECTV Latin America.

Amy Tenbrink and Glenn Dryfoos, who have been acting as interim co-general counsels, will now report to Ramos and continue to have oversight of their respective areas of responsibility.

Among other appointments, Carlos Ferreiro will assume the role of chief financial officer on Oct. 1 and continue in that position for the combined company. Ferreiro is currently the chief financial officer at Televisa.

Peter Lori will continue as CFO at Univision until Ferreiro takes over and then remain in a senior executive role with the combined company.
