HomeUnion, an online, real-estate investment management firm enabling value investing in single-family rental (SFR) properties, announced that it has hired Geri Brewster as chief compliance and risk officer.

In this new position, Brewster oversees legal, risk and compliance functions for the company. In addition, she is also responsible for human resources, business development and HomeUnion Lending, the new mortgage brokerage subsidiary of HomeUnion. She reports to HomeUnion CEO Don Ganguly.

Brewster has more than 30 years of leadership experience in government, legal, corporate and private equity environments. Most recently she was COO at Fleetgistics, a private equity funded company in the transportation logistics space. Prior to Fleetgistics, she spent the bulk of her career in various C-Level positions with Toyota Financial Services including as general counsel and group vice president, Toyota Financial Savings Bank. Before joining Toyota she spent several years as a real estate finance attorney in private practice.
