Investcorp, a provider and manager of alternative investment products with approximately $11 billion in assets under management, has named Sunil Gaglani to the firm's hedge funds business in the newly created position of chief risk officer.

Gaglani will be responsible for monitoring the risks of investments made across the firm's hedge funds business, including fund of funds, single managers, special opportunity and alternative beta portfolios. He will be a member of the hedge funds investment committee and report to Lionel Erdely, head and chief investment officer of the Hedge Funds Group at Investcorp.

Gaglani joins Investcorp with approximately 20 years of industry experience. Most recently, he was the head of risk at Mariner Investment Group, where he focused on Internal Funds. During his nine years at Mariner, Gaglani was responsible for analyzing potential risks of the firm's multi-strategy and single strategy funds as well as for the development of its risk infrastructure.
