J.C. Penney has appointed Andrew Drexler as chief accounting officer and controller. In connection with his appointment, Drexler will become the company’s principal accounting officer. He succeeds Dennis Miller who will remain principal accounting officer until that time.

Drexler joins J.C. Penney from grocery retailer Giant Eagle, where he served as senior vice president and chief financial officer since 2014. Prior to joining Giant Eagle, Drexler served as senior vice president of finance and corporate controller of GNC Holdings from 2011 to 2014. Prior to joining GNC, Drexler held various positions with Wal-Mart Stores from 2001 to 2011, including as vice president of finance, information systems division, and as vice president of finance, membership, marketing, operations and e-commerce, Sam’s Club Division. Prior to joining Walmart, Drexler was with PwC.
