Juniper Networks, a network solutions provider, has appointed Brian Martin as general counsel and corporate secretary, effective Oct. 5. Martin will serve on the executive leadership team and report directly to Chief Executive Officer Rami Rahim.

Martin succeeds Mitch Gaynor, who announced in March his plan to leave his role as general counsel after 11 years with the company. Gaynor will continue to serve through the transition until mid-October.

As general counsel, Martin will be responsible for providing legal guidance to Juniper’s executive leadership team and board of directors. He will also assume responsibility for Juniper’s global legal affairs and will lead the government affairs and environmental health, safety and security functions.

Martin brings nearly 20 years of corporate legal experience in the technology industry, most recently serving as general counsel and corporate secretary at KLA-Tencor. He also spent 10 years in senior legal positions at Sun Microsystems.
