Primary Residential Mortgage, a residential mortgage lender, has named Burton Embry as chief compliance officer. In this capacity, he is responsible for the company’s risk, regulatory, and compliance management programs.

Embry joined Primary Residential Mortgage two years ago as senior vice president of enterprise risk management, bringing with him more than 30 years of experience in the mortgage industry with more the 25 of those years focusing on mortgage compliance and quality assurance matters. Prior to joining Primary Residential Mortgage, Embry served as a regulatory compliance executive for several mortgage lending companies, including GE Capital Mortgage, Banc One Financial Services, NationsCredit, and Franklin American Mortgage Company.

Burton is an active member of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) Legal Issues and Regulatory Compliance Committee, in which he serves as chair of the regulatory compliance Subcommittee. He also is an active member of the state legislative and regulatory committee and the quality assurance subcommittee of the Mortgage Bankers Association, and the mortgage quality and compliance committee of the California Mortgage Bankers Association.
