Prudential Financial has named Julie Gershman, vice president of global business ethics and integrity, as its new corporate chief ethics officer.

In her new role as corporate chief ethics officer, Gershman will oversee and implement Prudential’s global business ethics and integrity programs to promote an ethical culture across the company. She will also be responsible for providing direction and support to the business unit ethics officers embedded within each of Prudential’s business and corporate functions.

From 2001 through 2014, Gershman held various positions of increasing responsibility in both the legal and business departments at MetLife. This includes serving as employment counsel, chief of staff to the general counsel, associate general counsel for litigation risk management, and vice president of strategy, planning and governance for the group insurance business.
