Former U.S. clothing business CEO faces 25 years for bribery in Honduras

Bribery

The former CEO of a Georgia clothing business faces 25 years in prison for bribing Honduran officials to win $10 million in uniform contracts in Honduras, the Department of Justice (DOJ) said.

The conviction sprang from a DOJ anticorruption task force established in 2021, to root out human trafficking and enforce the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) in El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras. The FCPA makes it illegal for U.S. companies and individuals to bribe foreign officials.
