As discussed here, insider trading defendant Winifred Jiau unsuccessfully tried to play the “dog card” at her trial this summer. In her opening statement, Jiau’s counsel “implored the jury to send her client home to her dog,” Hunter. The jury, however, was not inclined to send Jiau home to Hunter, and convicted Jiau on June 20 of conspiracy and securities fraud.
