It is Thursday, so that means it is “Throwback Thursday” on Twitter and other social media sites such as Instagram. Throwback Thursday (referred to on Twitter and elsewhere by the hashtag #TBT) is the day of the week when many Twitter users reminisce by posting an old photo.
This morning, for example, the NBA tweeted a #TBT video of Vince Carter’s performance in the 2000 NBA Dunk Contest; Marriott International tweeted a #TBT photo of when the global hotel company was a humble root beer stand; and innumerable people tweeted #TBT photos about that special day when they went to the big dance, when their now-grown kids were little, when they won the gold medal, or whatever.
