New rules that will be introduced this June will require companies based in the European Union (EU) to explain why some workers are paid more money for the same job and remedy any “unjustified” discrepancies.
Experts believe the legislation will prompt multinational companies to reassess their current pay and rewards structures to ensure consistency, and warn that employers should brace themselves for a wave of costly unfair pay claims.
