Towergate, an independently owned insurance intermediary in the U.K., has appointed Brian Hardwick as chief risk officer.

Hardwick joins Towergate from Chubb, where he had been chief risk officer since 2007. During his time in this role, he led all risk management and compliance across 11 countries in Europe.

Prior to Chubb, Hardwick spent 12 years consulting in various risk management and regulatory compliance roles within the U.K. financial services sector. He worked for Deloitte and was later risk practice leader of Grant Thornton. He has worked extensively within the general insurance sector, as well as working with banking and investment management clients.
