UPS has named Norman Brothers as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, effective as of Jan. 1. He will join the UPS Management Committee, the company’s senior-most leadership group. Brothers will report directly to UPS Chief Executive Officer David Abney.

Brothers, who joined UPS in 2000, most recently served as the company’s vice president and deputy general counsel.  He has led diverse legal practice areas including litigation, corporate, business development, regulatory compliance and international.

He also has managed the global privacy team and the office of the corporate secretary. Before joining UPS, he was a military prosecutor in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps and practiced at the international law firm King & Spalding.
