RAE Systems has promoted Michael Ownby to vice president of finance and chief compliance officer of its China operations, based in Beijing. His new role went into effect Nov. 1.

Ownby, who will continue to report directly to CFO Randy Gausman, joined RAE Systems in 2005 and most recently served as treasurer and corporate secretary.
