Copeland

$105 billion petroleum company ConocoPhillips recently added Jim Copeland to its board of directors. Copeland is the retired CEO of Deloitte & Touche in the U.S. and its global parent Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu. Copeland has been credited with guiding D&T through a period of significant revenue growth, during which it transitioned from the fifth- to the second-largest professional services firm worldwide. His election increases the number of directors to 16, 14 of whom are independent. Also a director at Coca-Cola Enterprises and Equifax, Copeland joins a ConocoPhillips board that includes the former CEOs of Eli Lilly, KPMG Peat Marwick, and Lockheed Martin, as well as the former President Reagan Chief of Staff Ken Duberstein.
