Thirteen data brokers have been warned by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to come into compliance with a 2024 law prohibiting the selling of the personal data of U.S. residents to foreign adversaries.
The Protecting Americans’ Data from Foreign Adversaries Act (PADFAA), prohibits data brokers, including companies that sell information about individuals to another party, from selling or providing personally identifiable information or sensitive information to any national considered a foreign adversary.
