The Securities and Exchange Commission has fully complied with recommendations made a year ago by the Government Accountability Office to improve the way the Commission tracks environmental disclosures from public companies.
Michèle Corash, a partner at Morrison & Foerster in San Francisco, tells Compliance Week that the SEC’s initiatives to increase the tracking and transparency of environmental disclosures means increased scrutiny of company disclosures by public interest groups and the plaintiffs’ bar, in addition to the SEC.
