International investment manager Barings announced the appointment of Paul Diouri as chief risk officer. Diouri will be responsible for overseeing Barings’ risk management operations, including managing, identifying, evaluating, and reporting across internal and external risks.

Diouri will replace Richard Kent, who served as interim chief risk officer, and will report to Chief Administrative and Legal Officer Sheldon Francis. Kent will continue with his responsibilities as global head of organizational risk and chief risk officer for Europe.

Most recently, Diouri was head of risk - Americas and a member of the executive management team at Schroders, where he was responsible for all areas of risk management and was directly involved in several strategic business initiatives, including the integration of a structured credit platform, the acquisition of a global private equity manager, and the launch of the firm’s private credit and alternative business. Prior to Schroders, he was head of investment and principal risk management at JP Morgan Asset Management for five years.
