Global cryptocurrency exchange Bitstamp announced the appointment of Caitlin Barnett as U.S. chief compliance officer.

Barnett will be based out of Bitstamp’s New York office, where her focus will be overseeing day-to-day compliance operations, working with regulatory officials and lawmakers, and helping Bitstamp anticipate and prepare for future regulatory changes.

Previously, Barnett served as deputy chief compliance officer at Gemini, where she developed and implemented an AML/BSA compliance program, managed multiple AML/BSA audits and exams, and led a group of over 20 compliance professionals. Prior to Gemini, she worked as an assistant vice president compliance officer at Commerzbank and served as assistant vice president and senior counsel at JPMorgan Chase.
