The International Compliance Association (ICA), a leading professional body for the global regulatory and financial crime compliance community, announced a partnership with Rwanda Finance Limited (RFL) to provide ICA education in the country.

The RFL is a new government agency aimed at developing Rwanda as a business and financial center of excellence. As part of its mandate to develop and promote the Kigali International Financial Centre, a financial hub designed to foster cross-border trade and investments in the Eastern and Central African region, the RFL will facilitate the extension of the ICA’s qualifications to the entire ecosystem of companies in Rwanda, in line with its efforts to raise compliance standards and promote good conduct and global best practice.

The ICA’s globally recognized programs in anti-money laundering, governance, risk and compliance, financial crime prevention, and customer due diligence appeal to a spectrum of institutions and professionals from the public and private sectors including banking, funds and investment management, capital markets, real estate, trustees and corporate service providers, mining, betting and gaming, law enforcement agencies, and non-profit organizations.

“I welcome the partnership between ICA and Rwanda Finance Limited to promote ICA education in the region, especially at a time when it has never been more important for companies and organizations to have robust compliance programs, systems, and controls,” said ICA President Bill Howarth in a press release. “Over the last 20 years, ICA has trained over 150,000 professionals across the world, helping them to excel in their role and equipping them with the knowledge and skills they need to mitigate and detect risk more effectively at their firm. I look forward to a successful, long-term collaboration with our new partner in Rwanda, promoting regulatory and compliance excellence in vital sectors for the economy.”

The International Compliance Association is a sister company to Compliance Week. Both organizations are under the umbrella of Wilmington plc.
