American Water Works Company announced the appointment of Lori Sutton as chief diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) officer.
She will report to Susan Hardwick, president and chief executive of American Water.
Sutton will lead a comprehensive and integrated strategy to drive diversity, equity, mutual respect, and inclusiveness across the organization.
She most recently served as global head of inclusion, diversity, and culture at Alcoa Corp., leading DEI strategy across 10 countries. Prior to that, she led DEI efforts at Berry Global Corp. She has more than a decade of experience in the DEI and human resources field, including leading DEI efforts in the utility sector.
