Cleveland Clinic announced the appointment of Emily Williams to chief compliance officer, effective Sept. 1.

Williams will lead the corporate compliance program in conjunction with the organization’s law department. She will succeed Don Sinko, chief integrity officer, who is retiring Oct. 15.

With a decade of service in Cleveland Clinic’s law department, Williams has been an adviser to hospital executives. She is currently general counsel for Cleveland Clinic Akron General, Mercy, and Union hospitals.

Previously, she served as general counsel at Cardinal Health at Home and was a healthcare regulatory counsel at Baker & Hostetler and Taft Stettinius & Hollister.

Sinko currently leads internal audit and corporate compliance programs that focus on compliance, business ethics, and internal controls.
