Deutsche Bank announced the appointment of Friederike Rotsch as general counsel, effective Sept. 5.

Rotsch will report to Stefan Simon, management board member and chief administrative officer, and be based in Frankfurt, Germany. She succeeds Karen Kuder, who left the bank to join DWS as chief administrative officer.

Previously, Rotsch served as group general counsel and head of group legal and compliance for science and technology company Merck. She brings expertise across corporate law, governance, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, and dispute resolution.
