The U.K. Financial Reporting Counsel announced the hiring of Alex Kuczynski as general counsel amid a series of executive appointments.

Kuczynski will also serve as executive director, corporate services. He joins the FRC from the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, where he was most recently chief corporate affairs officer and director of corporate affairs in addition to being a board director. Kuczynski has worked both in-house as general counsel and previously in private practice at Herbert Smith Freehills and Hogan Lovells.

In addition, Mark Babington has been appointed executive director, regulatory standards. Babington has been acting executive director at the FRC on an interim basis since the beginning of April.
