Cryptocurrency exchange FTX US announced the appointment of Marissa MacDonald to chief compliance officer as the company attempts to secure a license in New York.

MacDonald brings over two decades of experience working in both traditional finance and digital assets, including a 14-year tenure with Fidelity Investments.

Starting her career with Ernst & Young in the early 2000s, she most recently served as chief compliance officer at Fidelity Digital Assets.

Her appointment comes amid FTX’s bid for a trust charter with the New York State Department of Financial Services to operate in the state.
