GMS, a specialty distributor of interior building products, announced William Forrest Bell has been appointed chief accounting officer, effective Sept. 14.

Bell joins GMS from Icahn Automotive Group, where he served as chief accounting officer. Previously, he served as chief accounting officer for Veritiv Corp., a publicly traded distributor of packaging and paper products and provider of logistics and supply chain management solutions, and as senior vice president, chief accounting officer, and corporate controller of claims manager Crawford & Company.

Bell has over 35 years of accounting and finance experience, including 14 years in public accounting, where he began his career with PwC.
