Oil and gas company Newpark Resources announced the promotion of Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary M. Celeste Frugé to general counsel and chief compliance officer, according to a public filing.

Frugé succeeds E. Chipman Earle in the role, effective May 1. Earle is departing the company as part of a larger restructuring of its support functions, effective April 30.

Frugé served as deputy general counsel and assistant corporate secretary since February 2020 and started at the company in April 2008, climbing the ladder to roles of increasing responsibility. She started her legal career as an associate with law firms Winstead PC and Stibbs & Burbach, according to her LinkedIn profile.
