Regions Financial Corp., parent company of Regions Bank, announced the appointment of Russell Zusi as chief risk officer, effective Jan. 2.
Zusi will replace Matt Lusco, who is retiring at the end of 2023. Zusi will report directly to John Turner, president and chief executive officer of Regions Financial, and serve on the company’s executive leadership team.
He will oversee the company’s risk management functions, including financial risk, nonfinancial risk, compliance and regulatory risk, enterprise risk, and risk initiative management and integration.
He will join from Bank of America, where he worked nearly 20 years in risk management and finance roles. He most recently served as its co-head of global compliance and operational risk and global technology and operations chief risk officer.
