German technology giant Siemens announced the appointment of Annette Kraus as chief compliance officer.

Kraus will also head the company’s global compliance organization. She takes over the role from Martina Maier, who is leaving Siemens for personal reasons.

“Martina Maier has further enhanced our Compliance Organization over the past few years, making a significant contribution toward building a strong, exemplary compliance function that enjoys an excellent reputation around the world,” said Andreas Hoffmann, general counsel and head of the legal and compliance department at Siemens, in a press release. “We are grateful to her and wish her all the best for the future.”

Hoffmann further expressed praise for Kraus, who has been with Siemens since 2009. Kraus worked most recently as chief counsel compliance and head of the global investigation team and has previously held other compliance management positions with the company.
